LWC History

It all began . . .

In 1984, Living Word Church began as a home Bible study in the home of Bob and Helen Cagle* in Jasper, Georgia. As the fellowship grew, the group occupied the former Mason's Hall on the corner of Main Street in Jasper. They met in the hall on the second story of that building and called the church, The Upper Room. In 1988, they moved to a property on Collins Road in Jasper. It was at this location that the name of the church was changed to Living Word Church. Ten years later, the church sold the Collins Road property, then proceeded to purchase and pay off the current lot on Highway 5 and Pioneer Industrial Blvd. While the current building was undergoing construction, the congregation rented the Seventh Day Adventist building for two years. Living Word Church moved into its current building/property located at 215 Pioneer Industrial Boulevard on December of 1999.

*Living Word Church has been blessed over the years to continue the legacy of the church that Bob and Helen Cagle began almost 40 years ago. We are grateful to the Cagle's and for their vision to begin this church.  They are resting in peace now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
